Collection of donations continues in Quetta

QUETTA, Oct 12: The Balochistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has announced a donation of Rs10 million for help the victims of Saturday’s earthquake.

The Progressive Business Group, in a meeting presided over by its chairman Sardar Mohammad Ali Jogezai on Wednesday, decided to provide maximum donation and relief goods for the victims.

BCCI president Mohammad Sadiq Kakar appealed to the business and trade community to give maximum donation for the victims.

German firm Merck and Merck Marker has donated Rs20 million to the Citizens’ Foundation Earthquake Relief Fund.

The employees of the company have also announced to contribute one day’s salary for the cause.

RELIEF CAMPS: A large number of government institutions, non-government organizations, social welfare organizations and political parties have established relief camps in the provincial capital to collect donations for the victims, our correspondent adds.

Army has set up a camp at CSD centre in cantonment area, Red Crescent at Meezan Chowk and political parties along the Jinnah Road and at other places. The response of the people is very encouraging and schoolchildren are also contributing in the campaign.
