Trader held in Kadirgamar murder case

By Our Correspondent

COLOMBO, Oct 11: The military has arrested a Tamil businessman in connection with the August 12 assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar. Charles Gnanakone Selvakumar, a supposed confidante of the LTTE who had been a regular visitor at the resident of Mr Kadirgamar, was arrested on Monday at an alleged LTTE safe house in Colombo and handed over to the police for further investigations.

According to military sources, the army searched the house on Monday on a tip that Gnanakone was there with a group of suspected LTTE cadres. Soldiers had, however, found only Gnanakone at the house along with the owner who was an Australian citizen, sources added.
