Usman’s efforts in vain

KARACHI, Oct 10: Usman Farhat demonstrated powerful all-round show but failed to save Delhi City Gymkhana (DCG) from second defeat in Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan cricket tournament going down by seven wickets at the hands of Malir Gymkhana (MG) at KG ground on Monday.

Usman smashed an unbeaten 83 off 75 balls with five fours and three sixes as DCG mustered 148 for seven wickets in their 25 overs.

MG in response reeled off the required runs in 17 overs thanks to a solid knock of 52 by Abid Hanif laced with six boundaries and a six.

Abid with former Pakistan Captain Rashid Latif added 77 runs for the opening wicket.

Rashid cracked three fours and a six in his 43.

Aamir Hanif finished 27 not out with the aid of three fours and a six and Test batsman Asim Kamal got 22 not out which included a six and a boundary.
