LAHORE, Oct 10: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to postpone the Inter-region U-19 tournament in the wake of Saturday’s earthquake which caused hundreds of thousands of deaths in the NWFP and Azad Kashmir.
The competition is scheduled to start from Tuesday in which six One-day matches among 12 regions will be held across the country, followed by three-day matches among the same regions at the same venues from Thursday.
“It is hard to postpone any domestic tournament because there is no time to adjust any postponed event as the domestic season will continue till April 30 without any break,” PCB director cricket operations Salim Altaf said on Monday.
“We may make some changes, if necessary, to shift the matches from the venues situated in the affected areas but at the moment there is no change,” the director said.
In the affected areas, Karachi Urban will meet Peshawar at the Gymkhana ground, Peshawar in a Pool ‘A’.
In Pool ‘B’ Quetta will clash with Islamabad at Diamond ground, Islamabad.
