Team to assess damage at Srinagar shrine

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: A team of architects will travel to Srinagar later this week to assess damage to the Hazratbal shrine caused by the earthquake, a minister said on Monday.

The marble shrine suffered cracks and broken tiles as a result of the quake.

“A special team of architects will be in Kashmir on Oct 13 and 14. They will be asked to assess the damage and see how serious it is,” Indian parliamentary affairs Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters.—AFP
