KARACHI, Oct 10: Seven ships carrying containers and steel cargo and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to official sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 11 ships were berthed. They are: Global Prosperity, Thor Captain, Kota Jasa, Itham Bhum, to unload and load containers, Al-Marwah, Kudam and Southern Imperial, to offload oils, Mare Gallicum, Ping Jiang, Med Lerici and Guang Hua Men, to unload and load general cargo.

Sailing was also active as 10 vessels — Wan Hai-265, Mare Gallicum, Maersk Arizona, Swat, Anjum, Global Prosperity, Al-Marwah, Rickmers Chennai, Great Calm and Fonthida Naree — departed, while Carolina, Fifi Queen, Dover Castle, Southerm Imperial, Guang Hua Men, Capetan Tassos, Kota Jasa, Kudam, PONL Buenos Aires and Yang Jiang He are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.138m tons comprising 16,520 tons of export cargo, including 1,449 tons of cement, and 0.122m tons of import cargo, including 12,759 tons of sugar and 20,951 tons of DAP fertilizer.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Majori, to load 16,000 tons of molasses, APL Pusan, Y.M. Moon, Iran Sattari, Tai He, with containers, Sea Blessing, with 34,868 tons of coal, and Gant Star, with steel tonnage.
