Three soldiers die in landmine blast

MIRAMSHAH, Oct 9: Three soldiers were injured when a military vehicle ran over a landmine, five kilometre west of here on Sunday. Unconfirmed reports said that the soldiers succumbed to their injuries in a military hospital in Bannu.

Sources said that a military convoy comprising several trucks was going from Dattakhel tehsil to the Agency Headquarters Miramshah when their truck struck against a landmine planted on the road, seriously injuring the soldiers.

The injured soldiers were rushed to a military hospital in Bannu where they died.

The sources said that helicopter gunships were carrying out surveillance of the areas near the blast site.

The authorities have also mounted search for the suspects involved in the attack on the military convoy.
