Protest against power outage

DADU, Oct 9: Hundreds of power consumers from Bahi Khan Lashari and Allah Dino Jamali villages of Dadu taluka took out a rally from DPO chowk to the local press club on Saturday against disconnection of power to their villages.

They carried banners and raised slogans against the officials of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation (Hesco),whom they accused of removing the transformer from Bhai Khan Lashari Village on the pretext of installing extended load capacity transformer 30 days ago.

Led by Ali Nawaz Jamali, Laqoo Lashari, Naimatullah Lashari and Ghulam Murtaza Jamali, they complained that the Hesco officials were demanding gratification for installation of the transformer.

They alleged that owing to political support, the Hesco officials were victimizing the poor people of Dadu and high officials of Hesco were supporting the local officials of Hesco. They claimed that they were paying power bills regularly.

They appealed to the chairman Wapda and the federal minister for water and power to take immediate action against the Hesco officials and ensure installation of transformers.

JATOI: The federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi, the District nazim-elect Dadu, Karim Jatoi, the taluka nazim-elect Dadu, Sardar Naban Khan Lund, the taluka nazim-elect Johi, Dr Bandah Ali Leghari and MPA, Dr Manzoor Ahmed Leghari, have said that elections for the seats of district and taluka nazims were held in a transparent manner and neither any candidate nor government officials were involved in the rigging at the polling stations in the district.

Speaking at a press conference in Johi town on Saturday, they said Dadu Ittehad Panel had some complaints for former DRO Dadu hence DIP candidates g had sent complaints to the chief election commissioner, chief justices Sindh High Court and Supreme Court and DRO’s charge was transferred from him in the third phase of the local bodies elections. They said that at every polling station, judges were posted as the presiding officers in the district to ensure fair elections.

They said that PPP leaders and ADP candidates should accept results of the local bodies election of the third phase.

They said that PPP leaders, Haji Zafar Ali Leghari, Qazi Shafique Ahmed Mahessar, Pir Mazharul Haq and PPP MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali were not sincere with the people of the district and the party, as a result of which the ADP candidates did not win the seats of the district and taluka nazims in the entire district.

They announced that in the next general election, Liaquat Ali Jatoi would contest for MNA seat from Dadu-Johi.

RALLY: Hundreds of activists of the Dadu Ittehad, councillors, nazims and naib nazims took out a big procession from the Haitam Jatoi village railway crossing to celebrate victory of the district and taluka nazim seats.

The rally was led by federal minister for water and power, Liaquat Ali Jatoi and the district nazim Karim Jatoi.

DEMO: Activists of the JSQM, JSSF, PPP, PPP-SB, STPP and a number of shopkeepers held a demonstration outside the local press club on Sunday to protest against delay in arresting accused nominated in the Imdad Pirzado murder case.

Fida Hussain Pirzado, Roshan Pirzado and Javed Akbar Memon led the protesters.

They said that five days back, Abdul Aziz Panhwar with the help of his brother Abdul Hafiz Panhwar and three others, shot dead Imdad Hussain Pirzado.

They said that Dadu town police had registered case against the accused but the investigation police were not arresting them.
