LAHORE, Oct 8: PWD were relegated to B Division when they suffered their 16th defeat, losing 0-2 to Pakistan Navy in Premier League soccer on Friday night at Rawalpindi’s Army Stadium.

PWD, who joined Premier League by finishing second in PFF League 2004, gave inconsistent performance in their 22 allotted matches, winning only three of them.

Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) jumped to fifth position after routing PTCL 5-2. Right-winger Qadeer Ahmad opened the scoring with a sixth-minute strike followed by Atiqur Rahman goal in the 49th minute.

Qadeer again came into action in the 56th minute before Atiq got his double in the 78th minute when he connected Amir Khan cross.

Sajjad Hussain completed the rout four minutes from time with spectacular long-range drive.

KRL have collected 30 points from 15 matches with nine victories and are currently fifth behind leaders Wapda (37 points), NBP and Afghan Club (34 points) and Pakistan Army (32 points).

Meanwhile, Wapda and Pakistan Navy chalked up victories at Army Stadium on Friday.

Wapda thrashed Wohaib Club 8-0, while Pakistan Navy defeated PWD 3-0.

National Bank (NBP) were held 1-1 by a fighting Pakistan Army in the third match.
