Commodity prices soaring

Published October 9, 2005

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 8: The district administration has failed completely to control the prices of general commodities during the month of Ramazan. The official price list of fruits and vegetables was provided to greengrocers but they were not following it.

The Mirpurkhas market committee had set up a camp to check the prices but no officer remained present there.

People have demanded to the Sindh chief minister and governor to ensure sale of fruits and vegetables according to the official price list.

WHEAT SUPPLY: The chakki owners are compelled to buy wheat on high rates from the local market due to non-supply of wheat by the food department.

The supply of wheat began in August every year but this year the department had failed to provide wheat to chakkis and flourmills.
