HYDERABAD, Oct 8: Various parts of the city taluka are experiencing a shortage of water for the last two days following bursting of a water supply pipeline two days back. A 24-inch diameter water supply line at the Thadi Sarak water reservoir of the Water and Sanitation Agency burst with an explosion, affecting water supply to areas connected with the water supply network.

The non-supply of water has caused hardships to fast observing people as there was no water in mosques for ablution purposes.

WASA officials began the repair of water supply line and after hectic efforts the line was repaired.

The areas located in close vicinity of the water reservoir started getting normal supply of water but tail-end areas like American Quarters, Hali road and Effendi town are still hit by water shortage.

“The tail-end areas will be getting normal supply of water by Saturday night”, said WASA managing-director Shaukat Hayat Bhutto.

He said the line was busted due to some leakage in it at some point and its repair consumed a lot of time.
