Balochistan PA session

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 8: The Balochistan Assembly will meet from Monday with Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar in the chair. An official of the assembly secretariat said that on the first day of the session, the treasury benches would table two bills that could not have been presented in the previous budget session.

Sources in the opposition parties in the assembly said that the opposition members would table adjournment and privilege motions and resolutions in the session.

FORCED RETIREES: The officials, sent on forced retirements by former governor Amirul Mulk Mengal, have reported for duty to the services and general administration department here on Saturday after the Supreme Court restored their services.

Mr Mengal had compulsorily retired few officials of grade 19 and 20 but they filed appeals in the Balochistan service tribunal and then in the apex court.

The Supreme Court in last month accepted the appeals and reinstated them by declaring the orders of the former governor as null and void.

Two ex-principal secretaries to the chief minister, Malik Irfan Kasi and Jan Mohammad Dashti, former secretary local government Mohammad Hashim Mengal and ex-superintending engineer of the communications and works department Kaleem Nasar reported for duty.

DELAYED JUSTICE: Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Amanullah Yasinzai has directed judges of the subordinate courts to dispose of cases regarding minor crimes at the earliest, says PPI.

This he said while presiding over a meeting of the judges of the subordinate courts of Quetta Division here on Saturday.

He directed the judges to dispose of cases involving women and children in minor crimes so that they may not be lodged in jails unnecessarily.
