KARACHI: Installation of traffic signals ordered

KARACHI, Oct 7: DG Mass Transit and EDO Transport Malik Zahirul Islam reviewed the development work at Yasinabad inter-section on Friday and directed that installation of traffic signals be completed in one month.

He was informed that residents at Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road had constructed drive-ways in front of their bungalows, as a result of which the construction of new channels and road widening work had halted.

The officials of transport department assured the EDO that installation of traffic signals would be completed in one month as the drive ways had been dismantled with the help of bulldozers and tractors.

Under the project of transport and communication department, new channels would be constructed at the inter-section at the convergence of Azizabad and Gulshan-i-Iqbal to help solve the problem of traffic jam there.

The construction of new channels will facilitate traffic from Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road to Sehba Aktar Road and from Gulshan-i-Iqbal to Azizabad. —APP
