By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Oct 6: A gang of four robbers stormed into the house of an Indonesian embassy staffer in Sadiqabad on Wednesday night and deprived him of cash and jewellery, police said.

Mr Radi, a staff member at Indonesia embassy in Islamabad, lodged a complaint with the police stating that an unknown person rang the door bell of his house at night. As he unlocked the door, he found four strangers standing outside. He said they pushed him inside and held his family hostage at gunpoint.

The complainant said the robbers looted Rs70,000, $200, gold ornaments valuing Rs80,000, a VCR and a computer and escaped in his car (HJ-590) after locking the inmates in a room.

Meanwhile, auto-thieves stole four vehicles from different parts of Rawalpindi. Mr Maqbool’s car (RIY-8775) was stolen from Dhamial camp, while Khalid Mehmood’s wagon was stolen from the jurisdiction of Waris Khan.

Similarly, Amin Akbar Khan’s motorbike (RIY-112) was stolen from outside his house in the Civil Lines area, while Danish Ghafoor’s motorbike (HQ-211) was lifted from Sadiqabad.
