By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, Oct 6: The acting chief election commissioner, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, said here on Thursday that the third phase of the local body elections is held peacefully in a fair manner throughout the country.

He was talking to reporters at the Government Sachal Sarmast College polling station here on Thursday. He was accompanied by the secretary of the ECP, Kanwar Dilshad. Justice Dogar claimed that the third phase elections were held in a free and fair atmosphere, like the previous two phases.

He said that he had visited Lahore and Quetta and had not been informed about any untoward incident. Justice Dogar rejected allegations of rigging levelled by opposition parties and said that whoever had majority support would triumph in the polls.
