KARACHI: Rickshaw case disposed of

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 6: Triple-wheel rickshaws may be allowed provided they are not fitted with double stroke engines and subject to their clearance by the motor vehicle examiner, a division bench of the Sindh High Court observed on Thursday.

A rickshaw dealer, Abdul Qayyum, sought a direction to the traffic and other authorities for permission to run his brand of three-wheel rickshaws. He said the traffic authorities were not prepared to grant permission to bring his vehicles on road in Karachi. Additional Advocate-General Sarwar Khan submitted that double-stroke rickshaws were not allowed in view of a judgment rendered by the Supreme Court.
