Architects awarded

KARACHI, Oct 5: The Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP) organized for the first time distribution of awards for excellence in architectural design at the end of three-day IAP Exhibition 2005.

There were five categories of these awards which were residential projects, amenity buildings, industrial buildings, restoration and adaptive re-use buildings and architectural interior.

Najeeb Omar was given the award for single family residential project, Nasir Iqbal, Misbah Najmi and Tariq Hasan for amenity building up to 25,000 square feet and Fida Ali, Anwar Saeed and Arshad Abdullah for over 25,000 square feet. Fida Ali was awarded for restoration and adaptive re-use building for his project of Mohatta Palace. Hanif Daud and Shahid Abdullah were given awards for architectural interior.

No entry was received for industrial buildings and factory projects.
