Protest against detentions

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 4: Women and children again took out a procession on Tuesday demanding the release of all political detainees, including Ali Asghar Bungulzai and Saeedur Rehman Bungulzai.

The protesters assembled in front of the hunger strike camp established by the children of Asghar Bungulzai and chanted slogans against the government. The protesters were holding the placards inscribed with slogans against the illegal confinement and the violation of human rights.

The protesters marched towards the Governor’s and Chief Minister’s houses but when they reached near the general post office the police stopped the agitators.

Malik Wali Kakar of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and Nasrullah Khan of Ali Asghar release committee spoke to the protesters on the chowk and condemned the government’s lukewarm attitude towards the government.

Speakers demanded that either the activists who were in the unlawful custody of law-enforcement agencies should be freed or produced before the court to prove the charges against them.
