KARACHI, Oct 4: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, according to a PQA press release on Tuesday. In the meantime, four more ships with containers, edible oil and crude oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as six ships, Hailey, Sealand Freedom, Entalina, Evanglos-L, Yang Quan and Joyos Age, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, sugar and wheat.

A total tonnage of 42,015 tons comprising 36,660 tons of import and 5,355 tons of export cargo was handled.

Halley was due to leave the port, while Carmen and Bagi were expected to take berths at QICT and Fotco Terminal.

Four ships, Contship Tamarina, Saudi Abha, Socotra and Asian Trader, were due to arrive on Tuesday, while Anette Kosan and Al-Wajba were expected to reach on Wednesday.
