KARACHI, Oct 3: Pakistan can increase its exports to Russia up to $500 million from the current level of $20.3 million per annum if an appropriate strategy is evolved and due facilities are provided to exporters.
This was stated by the director, Pakistan-Russia Business Council of the FPCCI, Mohammad Farooq Afzal, on his return from a textile exhibition recently held in Moscow.
Mr Afzal led a textile delegation to the XXV Federal Trade Fair Moscow, where 12 exporters and manufacturers from Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad participated. Pakistani Ambassador in Russia Mustafa Kamal Kazi appreciated the efforts made by Pakistani exporters in the promotion of textile products in Russia and CIS markets.
He also met deputy head of the Moscow city government, vice-president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and president of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industries. Both the sides exchanged views on promotion of bilateral trade relations and removal of trade barriers between the two countries.
