SAHIWAL, Oct 2: City police registered a case against a former district bar association president and 11 others for allegedly ejecting a woman from her house after subjecting her to torture.

Reports said the former DBA president advocate Liaqat Shah along with Muhammad Iqbal, Asad Iqbal, Raheel Iqbal, Khalid Iqbal, Allah Yar, Manzoor Ahmed etc, raided the house of Robina Iqbal and forcibly ejected her from her house at Jinnah Chowk.

The police registered the case under sections 448, 148, 149 and 337 of the PPC with no arrest so far.

POSTMORTEM DELAYED: Postmortem of the beheaded and amputated body of an unidentified young girl recovered from Sukh Bias river near chak 40/EB could not be conducted despite passage of 36 hours.

Reports said the girl’s body was recovered from the river on Friday. Police had registered a case against unidentified persons under section 302 PPC. Despite passage of 36 hours, the postmortem could not be conducted as the police failed to provide the necessary papers. The police are reportedly busy in ‘making arrangements’ for Punjab chief minister’s visit to the area, while the body had started decomposing in the morgue.
