Altaf tells nazims to resolve problems

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Oct 2: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain has urged all nazims, naib nazims and councillors of the MQM to resolve the problems of the people in consultation with the elected opposition representatives.

He was addressing on telephone the elected nazims, naib nazims and councillors of Sukkur, Tando Allah Yar, Nawabshah and Hyderabad on Sunday night.

He asked them to uphold the advice of the opposition with regards to civic problems. He said that if elected representatives would work with honesty then not only problems would be solved but people would also respect the party’s decisions.

Mr Altaf asked them to form priorities for their routine work, contact people and redress their grievances.

He advised them not to form any group during their tenure. He also advised them to intermingle with the people and resolve their problems.

Welcoming the independent Nazims and Naib Nazims who have joined the MQM, he said that they would be given priority, and asked his party workers to respect them equally.

He also said that those who have emerged victorious and those who win in the third phase would have to chalk out their routine, and added that without it they could not be successful.

He said that their dedication, honesty and resolution of civic problems would make the province prosper.
