PPP condemns raid on Bhayo House in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR, Oct 1: PPP and Jatoi group leaders, Aftab Shaban Mirani, MPA Agha Tariq Khan, Qazi Hafizur Rehman and MNA Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi have condemned the police raid on the Bhayo House at the behest of Sindh government to harass its opponents.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi said that the federal government was not interfering in the third and final phase of the local body elections but the Sindh government.

He said that their alliance had support of 60 per cent elected members and they would definitely come out triumphant in the polls.

Aftab Mirani said that Abdul Qadir Pathan of the Awam Dost Panel would be a joint candidate of the PPP and the PML for the taluka nazim of Shikarpur.

DEMONSTRATION: Residents of the Mithal Shar and Dadlo Jatoi villages staged a demonstration outside the local press club on Saturday to protest against the Lakhi police, which was working against the members of Shar, Kharos and Jatoi groups.

The protesters were led by Wali Mohammad Jatoi, Allah Dino Shar, Dargahi Jatoi, Rustam Kharos, Shahnawaz Kharos, Zaibul and Patul.

SUICIDE: A person, Rashid Ali, 27, son of Abdul Rehman, committed suicide by shooting himself in his home at the Abdul Rehman Pahore village on Thursday noon.

The motive behind the suicide was said to be mental disturbance. Khanpur police have registered a case.

SPLA: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association, Shikarpur, has demanded, in a meeting presided over by Professor Wajid Ali Panhiar, from the provincial minister for education to transfer DDO colleges.

The college teachers threatened to launch a protest movement if the officer was not transferred.
