QUETTA, Oct 1: The Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Awami National Party have formed an alliance to jointly contest the district and tehsil nazim posts in Pishin against the joint candidates of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) and Pakistan Muslim League.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, Rashid Nasar of the ANP and Sardar Mustafa Tareen of the PMAP said their parties had decided to field joint candidates in the polls for Pishin district and tehsil nazims scheduled for October 6.

They said that the joint candidates for nazims of the district and its tehsils of Pishin, Karezat and Barshor would be nominated by the PMAP and the candidates for naib nazims and reserved seats by the ANP.

They added that talks were in progress with independent candidates who could also join the alliance against joint candidates of the JUI-F and PML which had fielded Isa Roshan for the district nazim slot.
