KHAIRPUR: Woman killed over karo-kari

KHAIRPUR, Oct 1: A woman was killed by her father with a knife in Wali Mohammad village on Friday. Abdullah Kandhro stabbed his daughter Safeeat Khatoon, 18, to death on the pretext of karo-kari.

Complainant Shakoor Kandhro registered an FIR on Saturday with the Tando Masti Khan police.

The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem from the Khairpur civil hospital.

PROTEST: Teachers and employees of the Government Nationalized Saint Theresa High School boycotted their classes and offices on Saturday.

They protested against arrest of school teacher Ghulam Sarwar Channo who was accused of beating a student of class six.

Student Zahid Maitlo was subjected to corporal punishment for not wearing uniform tie.

The student was injured and his eye was reportedly damaged.

Complainant Barkat Maitlo registered an FIR on Friday evening with the B-section police after which the teacher was arrest.

The teachers said Mr Channo was falsely implicated in the case.
