SHIKARPUR, Sept 30: A police contingent led by the TPO of Shikarpur raided the Bhayo House here on Friday. Police had been informed that some union council nazims, naib nazims and councillors were reportedly kept in wrongful confinement by Mir Babal Khan Bhayo in the Bhayo House.

TPO Qazi Imtiaz Ahmed along with the police party raided the Bhayo House and searched the bungalow, but did not find any councillor there. Mir Babal Khan Bhayo was not present in the house at the time of raid.

Mr Bhayo said that the police had raided his house at the behest of the Mahar group in order to pressurize to compel him to withdraw his support for the Jatoi group in the election of district nazim. He, however, said that he would continue his support for the Jatoi group’s candidate for the district nazim.

Meanwhile, sources at the Mahar House denied any involvement of the Mahar group in the raid.
