KARACHI, Sept 30: The former city nazim Niamatullah Khan has urged the caretaker of the city government to take immediate measures for controlling prices of essential items in Ramazan.
He termed it a challenge for the city government to sustain supply-demand mechanism in the holy month when manipulators resorted to stocking food items for earning hefty amounts.
“Stern actions should be taken against profiteers and hoarders,” he demanded.
He urged elected councillors to keep check on artificial price hikes in their respective constituencies.—PPI
