KARACHI, Sept 30: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 78 per cent as eight ships, Contship Indigo, Patmos Senafor, Yong Quan, Bota Fogo, Genco Success, Ace-7, Bow Petros and Warbah, were busy in loading and unloading sugar, seeds, coal, edible oil and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 75,685 tons comprising 52,905 tons of import and 22,780 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was active as Bow Petros, Warbah and Pacific Senator left the port while Contship Indigo was due to depart.

Two ships, Maersk Arizona and Amasis, were due to take berths. While five ships, Lissy Schulte, Merker Beach, Maersk Alaska, Anette Kosan and M.V Tain were expected to reach the port on Saturday.
