Distt women’s athletics from tomorrow

LAHORE, Sept 29: More than 592 female athletes and officials of all 34 districts of the province will take part in the three-day, first Punjab U-17 Inter-district athletics championship to be held at the Punjab Stadium from Saturday.

Director general, Punjab Sports Board Syed Munawar Abbas, said at a press conference on Thursday that all the districts had confirmed their participation.

He said that a total of 11 events would be competed and the winners, runners-up and third place finishers would get Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000.

The competition to be held in event are: javelin throw, high-jump, shot put, triple jump, 1500m, 4x100 m relay, long jump, discus throw, 200m, 800m and 100m races.
