LARKANA, Sept 29: The educational qualification of Karim Bux Jatoi, son of federal minister for Water and Power Liaquat Jatoi and the KPP candidate for the Dadu district nazim, has been challenged in the Sindh High Court by Saeed Jamali of the ADP, saying that the certificates produced by him are forged.

The division bench of the Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit, comprising Justice Zia Pervez and Justice Muslim Hani, issued notices to the chief election commissioner, provincial election commissioner, Sindh chief secretary, Degree Equivalent Commission chairman and Qambar-Shahdadkot district and session judge on Thursday to file their comments in the court about Karim Jatoi on Friday.

Nafees Siddiqi, advocating Mr Jamali, said that matriculation was mandatory to contest the local body elections and Karim Jatoi had submitted a fake diploma certificate in aeronautical engineering from the Aviation University of Dubai and certified it by the Islamabad Education Ministry.

Advocate Siddiqi said that earlier Barrister Pir Mazharul Haq had appealed to the district and session judge (DRO) on September 18 to disallow Jatoi to contest the elections but the judge rejected it.
