KARACHI, Sept 28: A five-day Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) women umpires seminar commenced at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) Stadium on Wednesday.
The seminar is being conducted by Masako Kamisuki of Japan who is also secretary of the AHF Umpiring Committee. She is being assisted by Dr. Muhammad Khalil.
Two women hockey umpires from Iran and one from India were among the 21 participants who are attending the moot. Two umpires from Singapore, who have confirmed their participation, could not arrive.
The opening day’s programme which envisages two sessions, dealt with preparation, area to control, positioning, match observation and discussion positioning, procedures and signalling.
Those who are attending the seminar includes: Suman Lata (Ind), Tooba Ilbeigi Asli and Shahla Bashtasbi Nia (Iran), Razia Rizvi, Humaira Masroor, Shaziz Yousaf, Ghazala Zaheer, Sameera Naseem, Ghazala Shehzad, Sanober Kazmi, Asiya Khan, Nighat, Seema Sikander, Sehrish, Mahia Moeen, Fauzia Khokar, Misbah Mahmood, Naila Sikander, Farzana Rasool, Mehreen Amjad and Asia.
