Power crisis continues in Pabbi

Published September 29, 2005

PESHAWAR, Sept 28: Unscheduled spells of power loadshedding coupled with inflated bills being issued by the Wapda authorities have added to the misery of consumers in Pabbi.

Talking to Dawn, elders of the locality complained that loadshedding had become a routine matter in the area and it lasted for more than three hours in evening and three hours in morning.

They alleged that Wapda was involved in extorting money in the shape of inflated bills and demanded action against the Wapda staff.

They also criticized transfer of Pabbi telephone numbers from Peshawar to Nowshera telephone exchange and called on the PTCL authorities to reconnect them with Peshawar telephone exchange.

They criticized MNA Qazi Hussain Ahmad and other elected representatives of the area for their silence over the issues.

Meanwhile, the students of the Pabbi boys’ college held a demonstration on Tuesday to protest against the Wapda and PTCL authorities.—Bureau Report
