RAWALPINDI, Sept 28: Two persons were killed and another received injuries in a drive-by shooting on Lehtrar Road here on Wednesday, police said.
Muhammad Munir, an employee of National Institute of Health and a part time estate agent, was waiting with two other persons, Mir Akbar and Shah Jahan, at a bus terminal on Lehtrar Road when some persons sitting in a car opened fire on them and sped away.
As a result, Muhammad Munir died on the spot, while the two other persons were seriously injured. The injured persons were shifted to the Polyclinic Hospital where Mir Akbar succumbed to injuries. Police suspected enmity as the cause of the incident. The culprits are still at large.
Meanwhile, two robbers stormed into a house in Satellite Town and made away with hard cash and jewellery, while three vehicles were stolen from different parts of Rawalpindi.
Muhammad Ijaz Ahmed lodged a complaint with the New Town police stating that two robbers entered his house and held his family at gunpoint. They snatched jewellery weighing 35 tolas, Rs5,000 in cash and a pistol and escaped.
Abdur Rehman’s car (IDD-3637) was stolen from Pirwadhai. Muhammad Ilyas’s wagon (LRL-3267) was lifted from RA Bazaar, while Muhammad Imran’s motorbike (RIW-6265) was stolen from Saddar.
Man kills mother: A man killed his mother over a domestic dispute in Kohsar Colony in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station, reports our Taxila correspondent.
Police sources said Zia severally injured his 70-year-old mother Sarwar Jan with a knife. The woman was shifted to THQ hospital where she died.
The police have arrested the accused and registered a case against the accused.
BOY INJURED: A 14-year-old teenager suffered head injuries when a speeding car hit him on Mall Road in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police station.
Police sources said Abid Ali was crossing the road when a car (IDH-1819) hit him. He was shifted to POF hospital, Wah Cantonment, in critical condition.
A case has been registered against the driver identified as Sabeeh.
