LONDON, Sept 28: European stock markets surged on Wednesday on positive US durable goods data, with investors in London absorbing a sharp downward revision to British economic growth, analysts said.
In London, the FTSE 100 index nonetheless climbed 0.87 percent to 5,494.8 points, the Frankfurt DAX 30 jumped 1.67 per cent to 5,048.74 points and in Paris the CAC 40 added 1.16 per cent at 4,599.63, its highest level since April 2002.
The DJ Euro Stoxx 50 index of leading eurozone shares increased 1.34 per cent to 3,429.42 points.—AFP
