KARACHI: 3,636 boys get admission in humanities group

KARACHI, Sept 27: The centralised admission committee for city colleges on Tuesday released a list of 3,636 boys students who have been placed for admission to first year classes in humanities group at 38 colleges and higher secondary schools.
According to the details released by the admission committee, the placement list includes 479 students in E grade, 3,005 in D grade, 107 in C grade, 13 in B grade, two in A grade, and one A-1 grade.
The chairman of the admission committee and executive district officer (higher education) Prof M Rais Alvi said that the depleting number of male students in the humanities faculty calls for efforts to make the education in social sciences more attractive and job-oriented.
Speaking about admission trend, he said male students have preferred commerce this time.
