BD tea prices

CHITTAGONG, Sept 27: The average price of Bangladesh teas fell by almost 1.0 per cent to 78.01 taka ($1.19) per kg on lower overseas demand at the weekly auction on Tuesday.

“About 1.31 million kg were sold at average price of 78.01 taka per kg, down 0.78 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was 7.98,” said an auctioneer. Different grades were sold between 63 taka and 115 taka per kg.

The next weekly auction will be held on October 4, with an expected offering of nearly 1.49 million kg.—Reuters
