Returns filing time extended

ISLAMABAD, Sept 27: The Central Board of Revenue has extended the timing for receiving income tax returns at all authorized branches of the State Bank and National Bank of Pakistan.

An official announcement on Tuesday said that all the authorized branches of the SBP and NBP would remain open till 8 p.m. on Thursday and till 10 p.m. on Friday. The last date for filing of income tax returns is September 30.

Similarly, all income tax offices will also remain open and receive returns till 8 p.m. on September 28 and 29 and till 12 midnight on September 30, 2005.

The CBR, as a part of its facilitation drive, has already issued booklets, brochures and a CD (Income Tax Assistant 2005) aimed at assisting and helping the taxpayers to file their returns of income.

In case any further assistance is required, the taxpayers can contact tax facilitation centres located at all income tax offices or CBR’s toll-free helpline number 0800-00-227.
