ISLAMABAD, Sept 26: Man-of-the-Match Bilal Asad hit a polished 133 to guide Diamond Club to 138 runs victory over Punjab Club and earn a place in the final of the ICA Inte-club cricket championship at DCG on Sunday.

Diamond will meet XI-Star in the final to be played tentatively on Oct 2 at the same venue. The XI-Star qualified for the final by beating Asif Memorial by one-wicket.

Bilal faced 109 balls, smashing 19 fours and a six as favourite Diamond Club piled up a massive 342 for seven in 50 overs and then restricted Punjab Club to 204 for seven in the semifinal.

Also doing well with the bat for Diamond were Amir Khan (68), Safdar Niazi (40 not out), Nouman Sadiq (25), Muhammad Nadeem (24 not out) and Atif Ashraf (20).

For Punjab Cricket Club, medium-pacer Adnan Suleman returned figures of three for 71.

Umair Akhtar stroked a fine 77, laced with seven boundaries while Wasim Anwar (28), Asadullah Khan (21) and Sohail Khan (16) made useful contributions for the losers.

Left-arm spinner Sajid Ali (2-28), Safdar Niazi (2-40) and Yasin Bari (2-58) shared the bowling spoils for the winners.
