Laid to rest

HARIPUR, Sept 26: Qazi Mohammad Asif, father of the Pakistan Muslim League MPA Qazi Mohammad Asad, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Sikandarpur on Monday.

He was killed in a road accident on Sunday. Former NWFP Chief Minister Raja Sikandar Zaman Khan, Agha Said Ali Shah, former district nazim Dr Raja Amer Zaman, Yusuf Ayub Khan, minister of state for finance Omar Ayub Khan, MPA Faisal Zaman, MPA Nisar Safdar Khan, MPA Mushtaq Ghani, provincial ministers Akhtar Nawaz Khan and Raja Faisal Zaman, councilors, nazims and political personalities attended the funeral.

Elected unopposed: Senior lawyer Saeed Akhtar Khan was elected unopposed vice president of Supreme Court Bar Association from NWFP after the rival candidate retired from the contest here on Saturday.
