CM claims pursuing impartial policy
PESHAWAR, Sept 26: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani said on Monday that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government had built strong relations with all public representatives, irrespective of their political affiliation.
“The general public has welcomed the provincial government’s impartial development policy with open arms,” the chief minister told a 15-member delegation from Mardan district. The delegation was headed by federal lawmaker Shuja-ul-Mulk.
Mr Durrani claimed that the provincial government had transferred power at the local level through its uniform and impartial policy.
According to him, people had developed a sense of participation in the affairs of government and a uniform uplift process was in top gear throughout the districts of the province.
Regarding development schemes and provision of basic amenities to Mardan’s residents, Mr Durrani said adequate funds had been released for the development of the district without favouring any particular public representative.
“Unlike the policy of previous regimes, we believe in the uniform uplift process in all districts of the province,” he said.
Terming education as the backbone of progress, the chief minister said the provincial government had released sufficient resources to Mardan in education sector, besides facilitating the commoners in other sectors, such as health, communications and natural gas etc.
“All the public welfare schemes that we have carried out so far are the legitimate rights of the people,” he added.
He said the provincial government would speed up the uplift process in consultation with public representatives. “We helped the erstwhile nazim of Mardan and we will also cooperate with the district government of Mardan in future also,” he maintained.
He vowed that no district government would face any form of negligence at the hands of the provincial government.
He said the people were satisfied with the provincial government’s policies and their confidence had increased.—PPI
