Korean investment sought

KARACHI, Sept 26: Sindh Senior Minister for Finance Syed Sardar Ahmed has asked the Korean Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company to operate Daewoo buses in the mega city.

Talking to the visiting Korean delegation led by Li Ju Sung who called on him here on Monday, the minister said that at present the city needed 10,000 buses to provide better commuting facilities to the Karachiites.

The minister also supported the idea of establishment of “Korean City” through which growing unemployment could be controlled. The delegation informed the minister about requirement of land for setting up desalination plants.

The minister directed Senior Member Board of Revenue to look into the matter.

The Korean delegation was informed about the need for preservation of fruits and vegetable for which modern cold storages were needed.—APP
