Repair work on Wapda line causes outage

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Sept 25: People in various parts of the province endured hours-long power breakdown caused by suspension of supply from the 132kv Burhan-Nowshera line which was under repair. A press release issued by the Peshawar Electric Supply Company said that a portion of the Burhan-Nowshera line fell apart at Gondal near Attock because of overload early on Sunday.

The supply to the NWFP was suspended when the Tarbela-Mardan line was battered by a storm that struck central parts of the province on Sept 23. Later, the press release said, the power supply was restored to several areas.
