WASHINGTON, Sept 24: US Vice President Dick Cheney was recovering on Saturday after undergoing successful surgery to remove blood clots behind each of his knees, a hospital spokeswoman said.
“Presently, the vice president is awake, alert, and comfortable,” she said. “He will remain in the hospital for up to 48 hours to monitor his recovery and is expected to resume his regular schedule when he is released.”—AFP
