Shabbir leads

LAHORE, Sept 23: Shabbir Iqbal, Pakistan No 2, emerged as the first day’s leader of the Rachna Open golf championship by playing a fine round of six under-par-66 with seven birdies and just one bogie at the Gujranwala Club on Friday.

The birdies were earned on holes 1st, 2,9,10, 11, 12, and 18.

M. Munir and Amjad Yousuf were joint second after firing card of one-under-71 each.

Munir had three birdies and two bogies, while Amjad five birdies and four bogies.

Imdad Hussain, M. Siddique and Afzal Mohsin carded par-72 to finish joint third.
