CCS, PFS in last eight
KARACHI, Sept 22: City Central School (CCS) and Pak Folks School (PFS) sailed into the quarterfinals of the KCCA Inter-school cricket tournament after winning their matches on Wednesday. CCS scored a crushing 240-run victory over GBSS Nzaimabad at TMC Ground.
Batting first, CCS raced to 294-4 in 50 overs thanks to fine knocks by Mohammad Irfan (63, seven fours), Mohammad Zohaib (59, five fours) and Hasan Alam (51, six fours).
GBSS Nazimabad, in response, crashed to 54 all out in the 22nd over with left-arm spinner Junaid Ishaq capturing three wickets for four runs. Zeeshan Nasir got three for 24.
In the other match at KCCA Stadium, leg-spinner Obaid Ahmed took six for 41 runs as PFS beat Zeeshan Secondary School (ZSS) by 62 runs. Earlier, Zahid Ali hammered a brilliant 101 with 10 boundaries to help PFS reach 205.
