ISLAMABAD, Sept 22: Minority lawmakers, both from the treasury benches and the opposition in the National Assembly, on Thursday demanded fresh inquiry by a house committee into the circumstances in which a Hindu girl ‘Sapna’ from Jacobabad (Sindh) was abducted, converted to Islam and married.
Minister of State for Interior Dr Shahzad Wasim, however, informed the house that the matter had been settled by a court after the girl recorded her statement of voluntarily converting to Islam.
