DADU, Sept 22: Six devotees who had come to attend Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz drowned while bathing in Aral Wah near Sehwan on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Fayaz, 30, Kamran, 40, Fakhar Abbas, 17, and Mohammad Anwar, 25, residents of Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad, Multan and Pak Pattan, respectively.

The bodies were shifted to their native villages through Edhi ambulances.

Two deceased were not identified and buried in the Sehwan Sharif graveyard.

It may be mentioned that people attending Urs from different parts of the country take bath in the Wah to beat the heat.

No precautionary measures have been adopted by the Jamshoro district administration to check people intending to bath.

Local people suggested that notice-boards be installed along the canal to prevent devotees from bathing because of the strong flow of the water.
