ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: A peace walk was organized on the occasion of International Peace Day here on Wednesday. The walk, which was organized by the International Human Rights Observer (IHRO), started from Saudi Pak Tower and culminated at the Parliament House.

Speaking on the occasion, IHRO President Khalid Aftab Sulehri pledged to promote peace and harmony not only in the country but also across the border by working with other human rights organizations.

The world community was facing challenges of terrorism and extremism which could only be stopped by spreading the message of peace and harmony on the UN peace call, he added.

Mr Sulehri asked the UN to take all possible measures for implementation of its resolution to end state terrorism from Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq and Afghanistan where thousands of people sacrificed their lives for independence and peace.

Hundreds of students from different schools and human rights organizations participated in the walk and chanted slogans against terrorism.—PPI
