QUETTA, Sept 21: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP), PPP-P, Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) and National Party (NP) have decided to contest jointly for the slots of city, Zarghoon and Chiltan towns nazims. They told a joint press conference in the Sarawan House on Wednesday that their talks with the MMA and other parties had remained unsuccessful. NP chief Dr Hayee Baloch, PMAP secretary-general Akram Shah, of BNP-Mengal secretary-general Habib Jalib Baloch and Nawabzada Lashkari Khan Raisani spoke on the occasion.
Dr Hayee said that according to an understanding, Quetta district nazim slot would go to the PMAP, NP would get the seat of naib city nazim, PPP-P would contest for Zarghoon town nazim and BNP-M for the slot of Chiltan town nazim.
He said decision on the seats of naib nazims of Zarghoon and Chiltan towns would be taken with consultation. Talks were in progress to evolve policy on special seats of women, labour and minority, he added.
In reply to a question, the NP leader said that although negotiations had been held with the MMA and Hazara Democratic Party, but no consensus could be developed with them.
