Pakistan and Algeria to increase trade

ISLAMABAD, Sept 21: Pakistan and Algeria will increase trade and investment in order to benefit from the expertise and experience of each other. An Algerian delegation visiting Pakistan for the first Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) meeting met Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Federal Minister for Privatization and Investment here on Wednesday. Mustapha Benbada, minister of small and medium enterprises, is leading the team.

The two sides agreed to have frequent exchange of visits by the respective private sector representatives for the purpose.

They also discussed the areas of cooperation and decided to hold workshops and seminars to exchange experiences and expertise in various fields, including privatization, investment, agriculture and other areas of interest.

Dr Shaikh told the team that continuity and consistency of government’s economic policies were a positive and important signal for investors.
